Seven boats in one shipment ! Take a load of this – click here
Have you seen this quote for shipping to Mallorca from Ireland?
I’m not sure if I am recalling correctly, but this seems to me a good bit cheaper than the last prices we saw – and looks as if it is based on seven boats per container… is there a larger size available?? I don’t know, but some of you might.
A whole number of you will be already thinking of getting to the Europeans at Mallorca. How are you getting there?? Mike Thompson (Chew Valley) was interested in containering the boat down there and got this quote from http://www.sailboatdeliveries.co.uk which you may find interesting. If you want to know more, I suggest you get in touch with Mike.
Thank you for your email regarding the flying fifteen Europeans at Puerto Pollensa Malorca in September.
The minimum amount of boats we are able to take is 4, and the price for transporting 4 flying fifteens is £6,800. This would entail the removal of one of the boat’s keels for transportation. (If you are able to find 3 other competitors this will make the payments £1,700 each.)
At present we have had no other interest for delivery to this event, so you would need to find 3 other competitors to make the trip viable.
I hope this helps answer your query. If you have any questions or I can be of any further help at all then please do not hesitate to contact me.
We’ve had an update from our contacts in Majorca, they are still trying to obtain a favorable rate on the ferry from Barcelona, when we get more news we’ll up date you as soon as we have it.
Tom Waples spotted this and sent it in!!
I have to agree with Ian here, I’m sure Mallorca would be a good venue but these dates are a show-stopper for me. The Garda Europeans was fantastic, we made it a family holiday too, and I was intending to do the same for the 2014 Europeans. But there’s just no way I can do a sailing event outside the UK unless I can combine it with a family holiday – time pressures and work just won’t allow it, and I’m sure that’s the case for many.

I’m interested in the ongoing discussion on the FF Blog about location of the Europeans especially as I found this the other day?
I think Mallorca was mentioned around the dingy park at the nationals, I was especially surprised to see a date mentioned on the web site? Has there been a change in thinking?
