GBR627 Vamoose – Bobby Salmond / Robert Till
Bobby has owned Vamoose for 48 years and has been sailing with crew Robert Till for 8 of those. The Hong Kong World’s is Bobby’s 13th, with a top placing of 14th. One of his many memories is from the last Hong Kong World’s, when a port/starboard with Sam Chan led to Sam retiring through boat damage – it’s not clear whether Bobby still owes Sam dinner! This year is the 50th anniversary of the boat, which Bobby first sailed, aged 13, with his father.
