Flying Fifteen Worlds – Day 2
It’s 0920hrs at Middle Island and having previously displayed the AP onshore to delay the boats’ departure, Race Officer Jerry Rollin has just announced that, given the proximity of Typhoon Krosa, the fact that the series is a race ahead of schedule and the fact that weather condiitons are forecast to deteriorate through the next 12 hours, there will be no racing today. Going by the subsequent round of applause, it seems the sailors are in agreement with Jerry’s view! The good news is that the forecast for the remainder of the week is for great sailing conditions, so it appears the Flying Fifteens will still enjoy a great regatta in Hong Kong.
PS – This is the FF Blog’s 1,600th posting – hurrah!!….Dm
