The Royal Motor Yacht Club hosted their Open and Classic Flying Fifteen Regatta on the Weekend of June 15/16.
The fleet of 20 boats was made up from RMYC and Parkstone Yacht Club with visitors from Burton and Draycote Water sailing clubs.
The regatta was scheduled to be a 4 race two day event but the wind was too strong to race on Saturday so three races were sailed on Sunday in a light southerly breeze in Poole Bay.
In the Open Fleet there were three different race winners – Crispin Read Wilson and Conner Ciantar won the first, father and son Graham and Ben Scroggie the second, and Martin Lewis and Mike Riley the third. However, Lewis and Riley, with placings of 3, 2, 1, were the most consistent team and won the event with Scroggies second, and Read Wilson third.
In the Classic Fleet ex Commodore Sally Davis sailing with Maggie Haxell were dominant winning 2 races and 1st place overall, 2nd place went to Nick Cornish and Roy and 3rd to Graham Latham and Sara Briscoe.
