With an ever growing fleet at Parkstone, it has become a very competitive fleet with the likes of Graham Scroggie previous Merlin Rocket National Champion, Crispin Read-Wilson previous Fireball World Champion and Pete Allam Olympic medallist to name but a few. This winter series has delivered some excellent close racing and the penultimate race didn’t disappoint. 16 Boats on the start line for a tour of the harbour which was chosen by Ron Elliot, who for this race was assisting PRO Andy Osman on the race platform after being side lined for the technical guru of Olympic sailor Pete Allam in a last bid to find that extra bit of pace. Although Ron was itching to be in the boat the whole race, the change of crew by Iain Lamey proved to be the move of the day when they crossed the line to take the win. Santa was seen in the yacht club after racing taking letters from the FF fleet, which I believe included wishes for new boats in 2013!
Parkstone would like to wish all flying 15s a Merry Christmas and good breezes for next year
